Description
The Virtual Health Information Network (VHIN) aims to improve the quality and efficiency of health and social research by connecting users of StatsNZ’s Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI) to the appropriate advice and support, so that they can:
- access the IDI more easily;
- develop a deeper understanding of the data and its limitations; and
- share knowledge, methods, and code with other researchers for greater efficiencies.
This project supports:
- ongoing delivery of services related to enabling IDI access;
- sharing understanding amongst the IDI user community of the use of IDI data and its limitations;
- sharing of knowledge, methods, and code; and
- delivery of formal IDI user training.
The project also involves undertaking health-focused analyses using the IDI.
