Description

Jack Vowles has led the New Zealand Election Study (NZES) since its inception in 1990. He was at the University of Exeter in 2011 and brought COMPASS on board to run the survey in his stead. We have run and put together data sets for the surveys of 2011, 2014, 2017, and 2023. Summer students worked on the project in 2011 when the election was still held in November, and also conducted research into media attention elections historically. That was also the last year in which MPs were sampled in a companion “Candidates Survey”. Dr Lara Greaves ran the survey in 2020 at the University of Auckland.

Full historical details and datasets are available at https://www.nzes.net.
