Description

This project is led by William Cheung at the University of Auckland Business School. It is driven by the fact that house price escalation in recent decades has made home ownership unattainable for more New Zealanders, leading to a sharp decline in home ownership rates. This trend is likely to shape peoples’ expectations regarding their housing pathways, potentially contributing to increased psychological distress. This project aims to understand how housing affordability influences mental health using data from the New Zealand Health Survey.
