Description

This project utilised a mixed-methods approach to explore the role of stable housing in turning ex-prisoners away from crime. It followed a cohort of prisoners preparing for their release, with an initial interview in prison followed by two follow-ups 6 and 12 months after release. Informally dubbed Going Straight Home?, this project gathered a wealth of information on many different aspects of the lives of the cohort, and this was analysed to ascertain the relationship between stable accommodation and recidivism in New Zealand.
