Description

This survey of Early Career Researchers (ECRs) was run by Dr Tom Baker on behalf of the committee of the Royal Society Te Apārangi’s Early Career Researcher Forum (https://www.royalsociety.org.nz/early-career-researcher-forum). ECRs were defined as active researchers within 10 years of completing the highest research qualification held, excluding parental and other forms of leave.

The aim was to fill knowledge gaps about ECRs regarding:

  1. Demographic features of the population
  2. Their experiences
  3. Their attitudes; and
  4. Their professional intentions.

COMPASS’s role was to tidy the dataset and present a file of tables and graphs to summarise the results of the survey.
