Description

The overall aim of this project was to give policymakers robust evidence of the most effective ways to reduce the impacts of childhood poverty on health. We answered three questions in relation to the health effects of childhood poverty:

  1. What is the effect of childhood poverty on health, and specifically which health outcomes does it affect?
  2. Which aspects of poverty dynamics, i.e. timing, duration, have the greatest impact on health outcomes?
  3. Which factors most strongly mediate the association between childhood poverty and health, and what are the likely benefits of interventions targeting these factors?
