Description

The objective of this research is to identify and describe the mental health problems experienced by young people with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in Aotearoa New Zealand, and to explore the mental health services they access across the health, social development, and education sectors.

Specifically, the research questions this project will answer are:

  1. What are the mental health problems experienced by people who have a brain injury in childhood or adolescence?;

  2. What services do people with a history of brain injury access across the health, social development, disability, and education sectors?; and

  3. Are there differences in mental health diagnoses and services accessed according to ethnicity, rurality, or socioeconomic status?
